A Wet Drive Home

25 Mar

We had a quiet 310 mile drive home in the rain. The rain was on and off and not difficult to handle. Good to be home after a great trip.

Thanks for sharing the report and great photos of your trip! Too bad I wasn’t in Cambria (or Atascadero) right now – you could have stopped by. The view of Morro Rock from Hwy 46 was the view I had every day, driving between Cambria and my dad’s place in Atascadero. It was a view I don’t think I would ever get tired of! I just got back from 2 weeks in New York City, visiting Lissy and her boys. We had snow the last day I was there! When I got back to Germany the weather was warm and sunny. I think that was the first time that the return to Germany meant an improvement in the weather! German greetings to you both!

Thanks for the comments Mary. We really had a great time on our short trip. The central coast is really an exceptional place. One thing however is that it is very expensive. Best time to travel…cost-wise…is in the spring as the cost for lodging is really much more reasonable. We were talking about you and your Dad when we were in the Carmbria/Morro Bay area. It would be nice to visit there together one day.

We have the weather for Frankfurt on our computer so we have noticed that this year has been much better than last years so far for you. Let hope it will stay that way. Good to hear that Lissy/family are doing doing well. New York City is such an interesting place.

Interesting morning! While we were on our trip we noticed we had an uninvited visitor. A racoon. Put out the trap last night and when I got up at 6 a.m. had a 40 pound coon. I loaded him up in the truck just as the sun was coming up…yes he tried to bite me…and took him out a a place with water etc about 8 miles from here to give him a new chance in life that did not include the inside of the house. #18 trapped racoon.

Best to you. Hope to see you soon.

      Mel and Libby
