Gorgeous Summer Evening in the High Desert

23 Jul

The time is 8 pm and the temperature is 79 degrees with the sun setting.  The sky is full of summer monsoon thunderstorms that hit us hard last night with at least a 1/2 inch of rain at about midnight.  Just a breath of wind tonight.

Looking at the back slope and yard and marveling at what water and a little fertilizer can do.  The wild life are the quail and a plethora of other birds.  The flowering bushes draw the humming birds and just now a mocking bird was watching me warily as I write this from my “anti-gravity chair.”

Although Libby and I are in late 60’s, we are healthy have traveled all over the world we still get really excited about taking off on our driving trip to Minnesota.  Pretty much ready.

We are eating our produce from our garden as often as we can. Last night I made home made pasta sauce with our tomatoes, fresh basil, had pasta as a side to our main dish of green peppers, hot peppers, and onions sautéed with Italian Sausage.   Everything from our garden but the onion and sausage.

Slinky our cat wants to sit on my lap but not enough room for computer and the cat.  Four days till we get on the road.
