Located around three kilometres from the town centre of Golling is one of the most attractive and romantic natural monuments in the province of Salzburg. The roaring Golling Waterfall was a popular motif of many painters in the 19th century Romantic period.
In the 1800’s, the wealthy of Austria came to Golling to cool off from the heat and to spend time in the wilderness with their own kind. I can see why, A gorgeous spot.
Not far from here is a gothic church that was a destination for pilgrims during the same time.
