We left San Diego at 9 a.m. and hit at least 5 spots of nearly stopping traffic. Most of it is construction. Three hours and 40 minutes.

Day Three and Four(Tuesday and Wednesday) of our fourth trip to San Diego this week were great mostly enjoying our grandson and the beach.
Long walk(4 miles) in the morning then started with a visit to the Fashion Valley Mall and enjoyed “Shaun the Sheep, the Movie” with our grandson. The of course we had to eat afterward at the California Pizza Kitchen. Great lunch special for $10.00.
Headed home for a nap and then a big bowl of home made chili made by daughter Marisa for dinner and off to the beach. The boys(Luke and Alex) loaded up their surf boards. What a gorgeous night. Walked another (2 miles) on the wet sand. Slept very good!
Wednesday, day four and Alex and I headed off to his favorite donut store, Rose’s. Only a two mile round trip walk. Then we picked up Libby and off to Barnes and Noble. A lunch at “Smash Burger” and home for nap.
Dinner with the whole family at Phil’s BBQ. One of the best BBQ in in the West. Boo-Hoo heading home tomorrow.
Left for San Diego on August 10, 2015, Sunday to visit and help with babysitting our world class nine year old grandson Alex.
Our trip down was exceptionally easy, 185 miles in 2 hours and 57 minutes. Nice Sunday at San Diego.
After a nap in the afternoon, we were invited to Shelter Island for beach party and wiener and s’more roast. Great 3 hours with friends.
Monday morning to the beach surfing with the Luke and the boy. Great time. Photo on the left if of the crystal pier.
Nap in the afternoon. Great food and a very nice day.
